ALL TOWERED UP

I recently spent a week in England to relax before school starts up again. (My dad is from England and my entire family resides there so I have been quite a few times).
For two months, Buckingham Palace had three exhibits on display so my aunt, mother, sisters and I took the opportunity to go and visit! We spent the day at the Queen’s gallery, the Royal Mews, and the State Rooms where they also had a childhood exhibit for the first time. It’s extremely magnificent when you walk in and I couldn’t help but wonder, how could anyone possibly live with that many rooms?

Although I was able to take pictures of the Queen's Gallery and the Mews I was not allowed to photograph the inside of the Palace.

After a long day at Buckingham Palace I visited the Tower of London to see the World War 1 memorial exhibit. Outside of the Tower Paul Cummins and his team have created over 880,000 of ceramic poppies. These poppies are bought by citizens and spread around the grounds surrounding the Tower of London and go up and over the moat. In usual London fashion as we took the tube and walked over to the Tower, it began to pour. Although this shortened my trip to see the poppies, I was still amazed at the beauty of all of them and that they could remember all of those who fought in the war this way. When you first walk down to where the tower is you can’t see the poppies at first, but as you make your way over and they come into view its breathtaking. I managed to get a few good pictures of them but struggled as my camera enjoyed focusing on the rain more than on the poppies. I definitely recommend that you go and see the memorial (and visit the Palace) if you’re going to be in London while its still on display throughout this year!
