SPOTLIGHT ARTIST: THE INTERMISSION PROJECT

If you’re looking for music that has a cool, acoustic-folk kind of sound, I can guarantee that a band called The Intermission Project is for you. The band consists of three members named Jim, Alex, and Charlie who are from the UK. To give a little background on the band, according to their website, Jim and Alex were friends since primary school and then met again in college because of their passion for music. They then added Charlie, who is the drummer, and started the band.

The quality that attracted me to this band was their vocal harmonies. Jim’s soothing voice along with Alex’s melodious voice sound remarkable especially when Charlie is added to the mix, it becomes heavenly to listen to. The video that is below shows how amazing their harmonies can be. Towards the end of the song, it is impossible to not be mesmerized by the sound emitting from their mouths and their instruments.

On Youtube, there is a four part series titled the “YHA Road Trip” which gives an insight on Jim, Alex, and Charlie as they travel along to perform at five youth hostels in seven days. It is a captivating documentary that you can watch over and over without being sick of it.

They have an EP titled Sorry which is available to purchase on iTunes and consists of three songs called, “Sorry,” “Come Away With Me,” and “I’ve Been Waiting.” It’s definitely hard to pick a favorite from this EP, but I think that “Sorry” is my favorite with its’ upbeat acoustic sound. It’s difficult to not clap along while I’m listening to it. I could go along with describing the other songs, but really this EP, to me, is flawless.

The Intermission Project’s music is such good music to listen to in the car or a road trip. My car drives are made ten times better when they’re being played, so I recommend downloading a copy of their EP so you can jam out whilst you’re doing errands.

If you live in the UK, you should definitely go see them live for me, as I (I live in Southern California which is VERY far away) sadly cannot. The Intermission Project is definitely a band that everyone needs to watch out for and start listening to before they get big!
