ALL THE RAGE

Around fall and spring of each year, my local Nordstrom puts on a high-fashion trend show. Ever since I was little it has been the highlight of the season for me. This year the show consisted of numerous designers and sales representatives from many high-end labels discussing their hottest products and how you can pull them off this season. The show had many great ideas for a multitude of price ranges. Some of my favorite outfits displayed fashion concepts that were completely foreign to me and I was really excited to experience these new trends.

The opening look included a gorgeous WAYF Multi-red Faux-Fur Vest. The vest, an obvious statement piece, stood out against the model’s Topshop Leopard Romper. While both pieces were very loud, they were softened by a cream Tourve Blouse, also by Topshop, which the model wore underneath the romper. I envisioned myself wearing this outfit when meeting friends for dinner or even to attend a friend’s birthday party. The vest, in particular, can be worn in addition to an all-black or white outfit that, on its own, would be boring.
The next look on the runway took a more casual approach. The model was wearing a black leather jacket with a fur collar from Topshop paired with Current/Elliot ripped jeans. She was also wearing a white and black Novelty Tank from Free People. This look is perfect for downtown dinners or low-key movie dates. The jacket could easily be placed over any short-sleeve shirt and allows most outfits to transition from day to night.

My final favorite look is ideal for sunny winter days. The beautiful model wore a Vince oatmeal turtleneck sweater on top of a Cora dress by Tory Burch. She finished the look with high cream socks scrunched over her Cassidy shoes by Cole Haan. The entire outfit was so simple yet so classy. I was absolutely enthralled.

Almost every model on the runway that morning wore a deep purple lipstick by MAC called Sin. I was so captivated by the daring lip color that I decided that I needed to purchase it as soon as possible. It is a bold, matte color and it really stands out. It goes on super easy and lasts nearly all day. It is perfect for finishing off outfits that do not have much pattern involved. It looks especially daring with an all-black outfit.
