Remember, it’s always important to talk out problems between you two, even if you have to be the first one to bring it up. It’s better to have it all out of the way sooner and have a full understanding between you two. There have been times in our relationship where we didn’t talk directly to each other and things got around between people and it just made everything worse in the end. I know that it may seem scary, but you won’t regret it. In high school, we had plenty of little quarrels and those were the worst. People like to stick their noses in other people's business and it just makes everything worse in the end. Words can get twisted and misconstrued and that turns out problematic for both of you.
Take some time and have it just be you two and sit and talk. Make sure to listen to the other person too, listening and understanding are important. Especially if you want your side to be heard, make sure you do the same and respect them. Don’t let a dumb little argument tear apart a friendship. Like they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. And I would say over the years our friendship has definitely become stronger! We might not talk everyday like we used to, but when we do see each other it’s as if no time has passed in between.
There may be some things or topics that we don’t agree with each other on, but we are still there to support them. And I hope she knows that I will never not support her, even if I feel like her decisions are not the best for her life. I will always be there for you through thick and thin. Even during the times when we get on each other’s every last nerve with everything, I will be here forever. That’s what a best friend does.
Despite the little fights over boys and dumb drama, I would say I have enjoyed the ride so far with my best friend. No matter the mood we are in, we always have a laugh. She knows how to cheer me up when no one else does and vice versa…or so I hope. I can honestly talk to her about anything and everything, nothing is ever an awkward conversation and I love that about us. It’s always nice to have someone to be able to talk about everything with.
As these years go on, we have discussed moving in with each other for a few years while we can get our lives together, but not be those adults that still live with our parents. C’mon, no one really wants to be that person. I suggest that when moving in with someone, you choose a person that you can be completely honest with and you don’t mind sharing close spaces. And even though she is my best friend, we have talked about how we might need to have designated spaces that we can go to when we get annoyed with each other, because lets be real here, you can’t always stand one person 24/7. You’re bound to hate them for a while if they do something that’s a pet peeve of yours, like leaving food in dishes in the sink, leaving their clothes all over the places, or even slurping their soup. And none of this is of experience really, because we haven’t moved in yet.
All in all though, I wouldn’t want to call anyone else my best friend, no one will ever replace her. Even if we stop being friends for some reason, I don’t think that there is someone on this earth who could get this high up. But we actually have to be friends forever because we know too much about one another and we could ruin each other’s lives.
No matter the amount of pointless arguments we have, we will never stop being friends. When we are old and turning senile, we will be looking back, laughing in our wheelchairs about all the stupid arguments we had. I hope that each and every one of you has someone in your life like this. There is no better feeling in the world than knowing you have someone who is going to be there for you and that you can tell anything to. Calling someone your best friend and they call you their best friend as well is such a relieving and warming feeling. I love my best friend very much and I would not trade her in for the world.
