YOU ME AT SIX CONCERT REVIEW

I recently saw You Me At Six live in Pomona and they were absolutely amazing; they definitely give a vibrant performance that can automatically lift up your mood.

Me and a friend had purchased VIP tickets for the show which came with seeing a pre-acoustic performance before the show.

Everyone who had purchased a VIP ticket was led inside the venue and we all stood around instruments that were laid out on the venue floor. You Me At Six were doing their soundcheck and we were all watching. Then Josh came down and chatted with fans a bit and told us that the pre-acoustic performance was going to be held in a record store right next door.

We were escorted to the record store and it was definitely a very intimate setting. Everyone was crowded in around the band who were set up against the window of the record store. They performed a couple songs such as “Lived A Lie” and “Fresh Start Fever”. They were very chatty and hilarious with the fans between the songs they performed. Overall, the acoustic performance was a pleasurable thing to see.

After the acoustic performance, everybody lined up to shortly meet and take a picture with a band. Though meeting them was brief, it was evident that they are genuine, lovely people who have a real passion for what they are doing.

Without a doubt, You Me At Six are one of the best bands to see live. Luckily, I was right against the barrier and in center for the show. Although Josh had said earlier that his voice was a little rough, his vocals during the show were flawless. The music was upbeat and pumping throughout the whole crowd with every song. The crowd was not the biggest, but they sure gave everything they had. They jumped, waved hands, and sang so incredibly loud that it was impossible to not smile during the whole show. Also, hearing my favorite song “Cold Night” from their recent album live was incredulous. There was a smile etched on my face throughout the whole show as the band created an enthusiastic vibe that filled the room. Everybody, even the band, was filled with liveliness.

Their album Cavalier Youth was recently released earlier this year and it has definitely defined the sound of You Me At Six. I highly recommend listening and purchasing this album if you’re a rock music fan because you will definitely not regret hearing this album. I’m not saying this because I’m a huge fan of You Me At Six’s music, they’re honestly just too good and I would also recommend seeing them live. They’re just an absolutely incredible band.
