Finally! Something we've all been waiting for! Alexander Wang's forthcoming H&M workout collection is not yet released, but we've got the new ads that have been! The collection gives off a total warrior hero vibe. The collection include Wang's twist on neoprene dresses, mesh logo jerseys, and billowy jackets. It all just screams sexy athleticism. A TV commercial, set to air October 30th, and an online film will accompany the ads, shot by Mikael Jansson.
English soccer star Andy Carroll and kickboxer Rivaldo dos Santos pose for the campaign, along with supermodels Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, and Natasha Poly. Alexander Wang was inspired by different sports, which is why the campaign includes athletic "accessories" such as boxing gloves, hockey sticks, and a football.
"We wanted to take certain elements of each sport and portray the ultimate warrior," Wang says. "The girls had to feel big and heroic."
There is about a month and a half left before the Alexander Wang x H&M collection is dropped. It's been a highly anticipated collaboration, with teaser images and previews displayed all over social media, including Instagram. You can check out some more teaser photos on Instagram @alexanderwangny.
The collection is focused mainly on neutral blacks, grays, and whites, keeping it monochrome, with a few pieces featuring the word "Wang" on them. There will be pieces for both men and women, so get excited!
"I'm hoping to achieve a completely new take, something that hasn't been done in H&M's 10 years of designer collaborations," says Alexander in the Autumn 2014 issue of H&M magazine.
The collection won't just be clothes! It will include shoes, bags, sunglasses and lots of other little accessories to go with everything. There will be approximately 40 pieces of womenswear, and about 20 pieces for the men.
Alexander Wang is the youngest designer to be a part of a designer collaboration with H&M, being only 30 years old, and is also the first American designer. Alexander joins the ranks of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Donatella Versace, and Isabel Marant among others who have collaborated with H&M.
The collection is scheduled to hit stores on November 6th, so mark it on your calendars!
