ZOELLA: YOUTUBE STAR SPEAKS OUT ABOUT ANXIETY

Zoe Sugg, better known as Zoella, is a beauty/lifestyle blogger and YouTuber, with nearly 6 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. Aside from beauty and fashion, Zoe dedicates videos and blog posts to issues which surround young people’s lives.

A year ago, Zoe made a video called “Dealing with Anxiety and Panic Attacks”. Not many YouTubers make personal videos about themselves, and we tend to think we know a lot about YouTubers, when in fact we don’t. Lots of people make the assumption that because YouTubers can sit down and talk in front of a camera for 10/20 minutes and then upload themselves to YouTube, that they have a massive amount of self-confidence. Zoe shares with us during this video that is a misconception and she, in fact, has suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for 10 years.
Zoe explains what a panic attack is and the reason why people may suffer with them. She also explains what experiences she has had when having a panic attack and how she finally came to the decision to see a local GP and ask for some help.
